"The Curious Case of Benjamim Button", "Slumdog Millionary", lideram a corrida para os óscares com 13 e 10 nomeações respectivamente.
"The Dark Knight" surpreende ao obter 8 nomeações incluindo Melhor Actor Secundário, a título póstumo, para Heather Ledger.
O universo BD é também representado pelas nomeações de "Iron Man" e "Wanted".
Uma troca interessante, se comparar a última edição dos Globos de Ouro, acontece com "The Reader" e "The Revolutionary Road", ambos com Kate Winslet.
O primeiro com nomeações, relativamente secundárias, o segundo com grande destaque.
Nas nomeações hoje divulgadas, "The Revolutionary Road" praticamente é ignorado pela Academia e "The Reader" a ter grande destaque, curioso.
